ABOUT LUCY SNELSON
PSYCHODYNAMIC COUNSELLOR

I am qualified to diploma level in Psychodynamic Counselling and have a postgraduate qualification in Psychological Therapies Practice and Research (Psychodynamic/Psychoanalytic Therapy). As an accredited member of the BACP I adhere to their Ethical Framework. I undertake a continuous programme of training to add to my theoretical knowledge and to remain updated about changes in current thinking and practice.

The psychodynamic approach aims to help us understand our behaviour, thoughts and feelings, in order to make links with earlier experiences, and understand how they may be influencing us now. This creates the possibility for change and enables us to move towards a more comfortable way of being. Developing greater self awareness and insight allows us to make more informed choices and fulfil our potential.

I offer Brief Psychodynamic Therapy, we will agree a set number of sessions (up to 20 sessions) in which we focus on and address immediate problems and habits that are affecting you, with the aim of identifying their roots and influence over your relationships, both past and present. We can work together to unfold your personal story, to help you gain greater understanding and acceptance of your issues and difficulties. My aim is to support you as you develop these insights and begin to make changes.
